The pre-Christmas time already begins in Vienna in November

Year in, year out, Vienna is very popular in the Christmas season, one of the reasons being the many Viennese Christmas markets which are spread all over the city. If you visit Vienna at the beginning of November, you will be spoilt for choice – you can visit the famous Christmas market in front of the Rathaus (Town Hall), the romantic one at Schloß Schönbrunn (Schönbrunn Palace), the artistic market at Karlsplatz or the trendy, modern market at Spittelberg in the city’s seventh district.

And to make sure that both locals and visitors to the city have as long a time as possible to visit their beloved Christmas markets, most already open on 15th November. This gives you the possibility to buy some early Christmas presents and traditional gifts or to heat yourself up with some tasty punch and Glühwein. A must for everyone who visits the city in the pre-Christmas season.
