Vienna and its Instagram ambassadors
The CheckVIENNA team is not alone in being a great fan of the social network, Instagram – it is also very popular with many Viennese. Instagram – probably in the meantime the largest photo network in the world – is perfect to discover the most important hotspots and secret tips of a place prior to a planned visit to a city or country. The advantage is that the local people who post on Instagram really know their city and can offer a huge variety of locations, sights to visit and the places to be. We would like to highlight a few Instagram accounts which we find particularly good.
One of the best-known Instagrammers from Vienna is Greg Sideris, founder of “theviennablog”. On his page you will find dozens of amazing photos of Vienna, taken at all times of the year. In his Instagram stories, he also shows wonderful places in the capital and reports on various events which he has attended.
The Viennese Girl
Not unknown in Vienna is Silia, better known as “The Viennese Girl”. Born in Greece, Silia has lived in the Danube metropolis for many years. She blogs and regularly posts about her adventures in and from Vienna on her Instagram account. She shares the most beautiful places in the city as well as the trendiest clubs with her followers.
Lukas Elias Winkler
Lukas Winkler belongs to the younger generation of Instagrammers but has, nevertheless, been active in this network for years. He comes from Vienna and in his own blog he presents the photos he has taken of his city. It is obvious that he particularly likes the attractions as well as the hidden corners of Vienna.
She loves her city so much that she has included it in the name of her Instagram account: Natalie Wien. Natalie’s Instagram account has a collection of over 600 photos and new ones are added continuously. On her page you will find photos of the well-known attractions in Vienna, such as Schönbrunn Palace and St. Stephen’s Cathedral as well as magnificent courtyards and squares.
In the truest sense of the word, fabulous photos of Vienna can be discovered on the Instagram page of Fabolus Vienna. The postings definitely have a certain “je ne sais quoi”, for example, the perspective is often truly special if not even unique. Most of the photos were taken at places which are probably not so easily accessible for the general public.
Oliver Oth is a true and genuine fan of Vienna. He is not only the manager of Instagramers Austria and the host of many exciting Instawalks but he also has his own impressive page for all fans of Vienna. His postings are a potpourri of motives from and about Vienna. On his Instawalks, where he is also present, his followers are given an exclusive insight into a variety of Viennese institutions, such as recently, the presidential chancellory of the Austrian President, Parliament, the Burgtheater or a range of museums such as the Albertina, the Leopold Museum or the Wien Museum.
